Pierce Corcoran,22,Killed by Illegal Immigrant

Pierce Kennedy Corcoran(August 4th, 1996-December 29th, 2018)was killed in a head on car crash on Chapman Highway in Knoxville, TN. The other driver in question, Franco Cambrany Francisco Eduardo, is being detained by ICE on charges of illegal immigration, failure to have a driver’s license and failure to purchase car insurance.

The following is a message from Pierce’s mother, Wendy Corcoran:

A Mother’s Message:

Pierce Corcoran was only 22 years old when he was killed by an illegal immigrant in a car crash on December 29th, 2018.

Pierce Corcoran, born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. A responsible, hardworking and loving son, brother and grandson. Pierce’s life is to be remembered and celebrated for his relationship with his Heavenly Father, his love for others, and his determination to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Was he perfect? No, but he was taught to care about others and his impact on them. He was taught and practiced personal responsibility throughout his life. He was compassionate towards others, others whom might look differently than he or whom might speak differently than he.

As we mourn our precious son and try to honor his memory, we are also faced with the fact that there is much discussion surrounding his tragic death.

For us, there are two issues: safety and responsibility. As it pertains to safety, we are not the first, nor will we be the last to lose a loved one on a road known to many as dangerous. This is something we feel must be addressed. As it pertains to responsibility, we as parents taught all three of our children to be responsible for their actions. We discussed with them their need to maintain their vehicles and always have their license, registration and insurance up to date.

Everyone is well aware that the 44 year old man involved in our 22 year old’s death did not practice this same responsibility and has not done so for 14 years.

It’s not about where this man came from–it’s the fact that he takes no personal responsibility for his actions. Not only in the financial sense, but no responsibility at all. He will most likely face very little jail time when all is said and done. He believes he should remain in our country illegally. Not only that, but we provide his counsel to fight for his rights.

We are all aware, as a family, that nothing will bring Pierce back, but don’t tell me my son, who lived in this country and followed its rules, doesn’t deserve better. For God’s sake, out of respect for the men and women who fought and fight to make this country such a desirable place to live, DO THE RIGHT THING and come here legally and become a responsible citizen.

  1. So sorry for her lost. I to lost a son so I feel her pain like no one can unless they loss a child. anyways we need to come together as American n face what is going on here. illegals should not be able to jump a line that people have been waiting for years. let’s make who we need to that is contributing to our country n get rid of all the monsters. We have locks on our homes to keep people out n the southern borders need a fence/wall or bob wire

    1. I am so sorry for your loss. I too lost a son at 22. I want to say that it was the worst thing in my life, and yet watching his father deteriorate mentally and morally might have been just as bad. The number of times I fought with his father (a US born and educated citizen) that we had to make the car insurance payment and go without something else even though our state allowed us not to have insurance was ridiculous! The pain of grief is life stopping. It took a couple years to come back to life fully. I wish you all the love and support you need to make that journey. I am forever changed by my son’s death and yet I was forever changed by his birth, the death of his sibling we never knew, and the birth of his living brother — so it is fitting that his death should change me yet again. The anger that comes with grief needs somewhere to go, and it is certainly easier to be mad at the “other” and label them “illegal” than at the Spirit or Universe for allowing something like this to happen. Where was the angel to intervene and prevent this tragedy? When should that angel have intervened? On the day Pierce was traveling that particular highway or back in the birth country of the man driving the other car so he didn’t leave his homeland? There are many US citizens who are just a “irresponsible” as this non-US citizen. They don’t carry proper insurance, maintain their vehicles well, or maybe even have a valid license. For many of them it is because they are poor and struggling and don’t have the money for the fees and premiums. In the case of a non-citizen without a green card, by state law, it might be impossible to get a license. No license – no insurance. Some states allow non-green card aliens to get licenses. Does yours? Some don’t have poverty as an excuse. Oh, they will tell you they cannot afford it, and the truth is they buy substances, video games, or other material items for their day to day comfort (or demise) before purchasing insurance, paying their speeding ticket, taking care of their cars, their loved ones, or sometimes even themselves. It is unfortunate that this particular person happened to be in this country in violation of immigration law, and yet it could just as easily have been a responsible or irresponsible US Citizen driving the other vehicle. The point is to be responsible and to make it possible for others to also be responsible. Building walls doesn’t do that. Building walls – physical ones at a border or ones is our hearts and minds – turns us into something we don’t want to be. Relaxing immigration laws, helping make things better in other places, reducing the demand for illegal drugs by helping rather than condemning those addicted might make illegal immigration less of a red herring issue and help us heal the world one person at a time.

      1. Sorry open border socialist. This is a sovereign nation with laws. You could care less about citizens being needlessly murdered. There are legal means to become a citizen. There should be no tolerance for the parasites and criminals flooding over the border illegally. Build the wall!

      2. I didn’t put labels on you or anyone else in my post. Why do you feel that is okay to do to anyone? Is it just because you are mad so rudeness helps you feel better? Or it shuts down the conversation so only your voice is heard? I am actually a registered independent and pretty much a free market capitalist. That said, I am also not wealthy in financial terms and neither are most of my neighbors. That makes me well aware of the need for the poor and those at the bottom of the economic pyramid to act collectively and get a good education to balance the power of the top. My state allows undocumented non-citizens to get licenses. We still have horrific traffic deaths. Four teens killed by a madman going the wrong way up the interstate with a police office desperately trying to stop him. That driver was a full blooded US citizen. The issue here isn’t anyone’s citizen status. It’s about being responsible no matter what one’s status and making sure people have the means to be responsible.

      3. Despite your comment this great country’s citizens are dying @ the hands of illegals & one American dying is TOO MANY. This young man’s death was senseless & PREVENTABLE. I too lost my young grandson to drugs laced w/fentenyl totally PREVENTABLE! DESPITE YOUR IDEAS, WE’RE DAMN TIRED OF LOSING OUR KIDS, WE “NEED” THE WALL TO KEEP SCUM FROM MURDERING OUR FAMILIES!

      5. Jim, sadly it’s becoming too common. Many don’t understand the problems with people being here illegally. Not until it directly effects them. I guess in some ways our family didn’t fully understand either. We weren’t totally unaware there were issues. We just didn’t understand the depth of the issues until our sons death. American citizens cannot afford for our government to let this continue. Our justice system is ill equipped to handle the crimes of our own citizens let alone those in this country illegally. We hope and pray people begin to love America more than they hate President Trump. God Bless you!

      6. I have to disagree with you. Despite the fact that ANY American Citizen could potentially be killed by ANOTHER American Citizen, at any time…..the fact remains: An illegal alien is someone who never should’ve been in the country, in the first place. In addition to the terrible loss a parent experiences, they also experience further “insult to injury”, knowing full well, that the perpetrator wasn’t supposed to be here, in the first place. I also disagree with your position on “Walls”. Numerous Democrat Politicians have Walls, Gates, and armed Security Guards, surrounding their homes. It’s not IMMORAL to exclude strangers from one’s home property. If strangers kept coming into my yard, and repeatedly killed my pets, one by one….and kept “crossing my border/ property line”, you best believe I’d put up a big fence/wall/barrier, as a future deterrent. You INVITE your friends onto your property. You EXCLUDE Intruders, in order to protect those you love. There’s a woman who’s toddler son was permanently disabled, by an illegal alien, drunk-driver. Not only did this mother have to live with the sorrow of what happened to her previously-healthy son… but she later learned that the illegal alien who did it, HAD ALREADY BEEN DEPORTED (15) TIMES(!), PRIOR TO the accident that disabled her toddler. See? With no Wall/Barrier at the Southern Border, anyone (including those with criminal records), can just keep walking back across the border, again and again, whenever they want. We just keep deporting….and they just walk right back into our yard. Add to that, that I live in a Sanctuary State…so my Police Dept is forbidden from assisting Federal I.C.E. Agents, to make it easier to capture/deport those with criminal records. It’s disrespectful to American Citizens. By the way: I realize we have our own, home-grown criminals to contend with….all the more reason that we don’t need to easily import other countries’ criminals, too. Also:. Many of my neighbors are Mexican and Turkish. They are lovely families who emigrated LEGALLY; properly vetted. They are great neighbors. I have nothing against any race. I just want our immigration laws to be followed, like they did.

    2. So sorry for your loss.. I lost my son to a drug overdose. There is no way to describe the pain we feel when you lose a child. A part of you dies also. Your son did deserve better than what happen to him. Has anyone ask who hired this illegal? Who was renting to him? He was here for 10 years and no one reported him. We not only need the wall , we need to start enforcing the laws already in place. These people that are protecting the illegals need to pay the price also. I live in the same county as the illegal. I have called county and city mayors. I have called Marsh Blackburn. I have email Lamar Alexander, Chuck Fleischmann, and our governor, I have not got any answers. They could find out , but I think they do not want to. So very sorry

  3. I am so so sorry for your family. Such an awful tragedy. It breaks my heart. I hope this spreads so people understand why we need secure borders. This country is blessed to have a president who is fighting for us, the american people. If our border isnt secured the US will become something we dont recognize. If the economy and borders secured is what President Trump fixes that is more then the last two presidents have done for the people. They only did for the good ole boy system and helping the people was just an after thought.

  4. Beautifully said. Too often people try to make it about discrimination…but your post is very clear that isn’t the issue. We all need to follow the rules, and coming here illegal already shows great disrespect for them! He should be punished as if he were already an American citizen with previous violations, and not let off because he isn’t.

  8. I don’t know where to begin. My deepest condolences to your family for the loss of your beautiful son. A few months ago, I was involved in a head on crash caused by a drunk driver, also an illegal immigrant. He was driving in the wrong lane. By the grace of God, I walked away with minor injuries and the driver is now in ICE custody. Every time I see a story like yours, I wonder why I was spared and others were not. Emotionally, the last few months have been difficult. I am humbled and grateful to be alive, but truly angered at the justice system and the national debate over immigration. I was raised to follow laws and norms of our society, as I am teaching my own children. Your blog post and your TV interviews have summed up exactly what I have been feeling. I am praying for your all from the deepest place in my heart. I wish there was some way I could help you. I understand the feeling of violation you must have, although obviously not to the same extent at all. God bless you and all we can hope for is some change to occur.

Grandmother & Great GrandMother I can not believe that the Liberal Demos won’t get this fence built and try to get these illegals out. I have lost 3 cars do to drunk illegals, one of them being our sons truck & not able to afford his wedding, etc. I hope this will all get straightened out so that not more will lose their lives.
